 Pennsylvania Provincial Dower Chest

Possibly the finest example of dower chests, the original is from Berks County and resides now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.The miniature is a faithful reproduction and was created from detailed drawings of both construction and decoration. It will reside in the miniature museum in Maysvills, KY.
The decorations imagine a courtship. Unicorns in the center are the guardians of fair maidenhood. Turtledoves sing love songs while the riders on the side panels portray suitors. Surrounding all is a vining motif showing fucia, tulip, and carnation. Detailed photos available to interested parties.
